The Golden Lampstand
The Golden Lampstand may be the single most important item in relation to the Church at large, a.k.a. the Body of Christ, that is in the OT Tabernacle of YHVH. see in above right corner.
What does the Bible say about this lampstand?
In the description of the lampstand the main oil pot is in the middle and on each side of it are three oil pots, all of which were meant to burn continuously. The photo to the right is representation of the lampstand according to the Word of YHVH. It has four oil pots below the seven. With this in mind let us continue with what the Bible says:
Preliminary Introduction of the Seven Spirits of YHVH
Rev 1:4
John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Comment: Below is the promise of the one referred to and seven Spirits.
Isa 11
1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of YHVH (Yahavah) shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the YHVH (Yahavah);
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the YHVH (Yahavah): and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Comment: The prophecy was fulfilled as recorded in the Gospels. Below is the record in the Gospel of John concerning John the Baptist who baptized Jesus in the Jordan River, after which Jesus received the promised anointing recorded in Isaiah. The baptism and anointing marked the beginning of Jesus’ three year ministry before his crucifixion.
John 1
30 This is he of whom I said, After me comes a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
Comment: Rev. 1:20 clearly ties the candlestick or lampstand to the seven Spirits of YHVH and the seven churches. The center oil pot represents the Spirit of YHVH and the six beside it are the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the YHVH (Yahavah). This is the anointing of the Holy Spirit (helper) that Jesus promised to his disciples and not only the disciples but all who will believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. The seven churches of the Book of Revelation received that anointing but did not fully live in the power of the anointing.
Rev 1:20
The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches.
Rev 3:1
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things says he that has the seven Spirits of Elohim, and the seven stars; I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and are dead.
Rev 4:5
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim.
Rev 5:6
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Comment: Rev. 5:6 is mind boggling it is so packed with power. It speaks of everything the lampstand stands for which is the omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience of the Spirit of YHVH and everything the Son of YHVH represents.
The four beasts before the throne of YHVH. The four beasts or the cherubim, a.k.a. the Four Living Creatures, represent the four stations of Jesus' life. The four oil pots on the lampstand are rightfully placed under the seven oil pots and represent the four faces of the four Living Creatures.
- The face of a lion represents Jesus as a descendent of Judah and the King of kings;
- The face of the Bull or ox represents the High Priest's sacrifice of peace. Jesus was the sacrifice of peace with YHVH for all;
- The face of a man is the Son of God and the Bread of heaven;
- The eagle represents the protection of YHVH by his Spirit.
Rev 4
6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
